9:16 LYRIC VIDEOS / YOUR LYRIC VIDEO

Vertical lyric videos for TikTok, Reels and Shorts

Most fans will meet your new song on a phone. A vertical lyric video fills the screen on TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts, with every word timed to your vocal and placed where people can read it.

Why a vertical version matters

A landscape video shown in a vertical feed shrinks to a strip in the middle of the screen. The lyrics get small, and the video looks like a repost. A 9:16 version uses the full height of the phone, so the words stay large and the video looks made for the platform it is on.

Short-form platforms also put their own interface on top of your video: the caption, the account name, and the like and share buttons. We lay out the lyrics for the vertical frame and keep them clear of those areas, so nothing important is hidden.

One song, both formats

Essential includes one 1080p MP4 in your choice of 16:9 landscape or 9:16 portrait. Add the other format for $19 per song and you get both from the same design: the landscape video for YouTube and the vertical version for short-form clips.

Every style in our library can be made vertically. The examples below are shown in landscape; in 9:16 the same treatment is rearranged for the taller frame rather than cropped.

Made for this. Oversized words build one by one, which reads well at phone size.
Turn it up. High-contrast type with a word marker locked to the vocal.

Using a vertical lyric video for your release

  • Post it in release week. Upload the full vertical video, or trim the chorus into a shorter clip for each platform.
  • Point people to the release. Tag your song from the platform's music library where it is available, or put the streaming link in your bio.
  • Write the hook in the caption. The lyric on screen and the caption together tell new listeners what the song is about.
  • Pin it to your profile so visitors from other posts find the song.

Questions about vertical lyric videos

What resolution is the vertical version?

Can I get only the vertical version?

Yes. Choose 9:16 when you order. Landscape is then the optional add-on.

Can you make a short clip of the chorus?

The delivery is the full song. You can trim it in any editing app or in the platform itself. If you need set clip lengths, describe them in a custom brief.
