A RELEASE GUIDE / YOUR LYRIC VIDEO
Lyric video maker or custom production?
Both can put your lyrics on screen. The choice is how much of the editing, timing and visual direction you want to take on yourself.
Two ways to make a lyric video
A self-service lyric video maker gives you an editor: you bring the track, add the words, adjust their timing and export the result. That can suit a release where you want to work directly with a template and keep refining it yourself.
YourLyricVideo is a custom production service. You send the final recording, checked lyrics and a brief; we build the visual treatment and deliver the finished MP4. There is no online timeline or editing app to learn here.
| The work | Self-service editor | YourLyricVideo |
|---|---|---|
| Creative direction | You build or adapt the design. | You choose a direction and send a brief. |
| Lyric timing | You check and adjust the vocal cues. | We time the lyric animation to your recording. |
| Revisions | You make changes in the editor. | Essential includes one consolidated revision round. |
| Delivery | You export when the edit is ready. | A finished 1080p MP4 on your private project page. |
Good timing follows the voice
A lyric line does not have to appear all at once. In a karaoke treatment, colour travels through the words as they are sung. In kinetic type, a word can arrive on its vocal entrance while the earlier words hold their place.
Those are different choices. A held vowel needs room to breathe; a quick phrase needs a readable rhythm. When comparing examples, watch how the words enter, what stays visible and how the treatment handles a pause.
Choose a world for the words
Start with the song rather than a list of effects. An intimate verse can feel like a letter gathering on paper. A percussive performance can use bold words that build on each entrance. The visual idea should still leave the lyrics easy to follow on a phone.
Watch all lyric video examples before choosing a starting point.
Prepare your track for production
- The final mix. Send the recording you intend to release, so the timing matches the finished song.
- Checked lyrics. Include repeated choruses, ad-libs and the spelling you want on screen. Review any transcription against the vocal.
- A focused brief. Share a preferred example, colours, artwork and a few references. Explain what you like about them.
- Your release format. Choose landscape 16:9 or portrait 9:16. The other format is available for an additional $19 per song.
- Permission to use the material. Supply audio, lyrics and artwork you own or have permission to use.
